Moving!

I just can't wait till we will have a home of our own. We plan on moving to Kansas next year. And I just love to day dream about all the things we will do when we have a yard! I'm even considering raising honey bees. I wonder how hard that would be?

The more I think about it, the more I would love the life of a farmer, I think. Not a commercial farmer, just a home style farm. :) I want chickens for sure! I can't wait to have chickens!

Fun Gathering

We had a good time at the sister's home. Come to find out several others there were from our sister congregations. Lol Which was pretty unusual since this sister lives in Brooklyn, and we met her at a Brooklyn Convention, that was not ours, and we live in Queens, and was assigned a Queens convention. So most the people there lived with in blocks of us! I don't know how she met them! Lol But, it was a regular back yard Barbecue. And it was really fun. Every one was real nice. At first though Vince was kind of scared. And hey I was a bit too! Lol He thought about calling his parents and letting them know where we would be in case we never came home! Lol They would know where to look for us! Lol haha But, they were nice people and we had no problems. Lol I was kind of scared too at first. Even though they seemed nice in line, they were still people we really didn't "know". Lol But, of the other guests, some of us knew friends of friends of each other. Which was pretty neat! We all live with in blocks of each other, and come to find out even though we are in different congregations most of us all go to the same Hall! So that was pretty neat. So we all knew friends of each other. In fact one of the couples there knew my husband's best friend! And they had "heard" of other friends of ours. Another brother there knew a really good friend of ours, who we give rides to all the time. So it was pretty neat, and fun. The sister giving the party though, she goes to a congregation in Brooklyn. I guess she was having a Queens party! Lol hahaha

I brought Luscious Lemon Dessert from the Friends and Family book By JoAnna Lund and it was a hit! They ate it all, and even washed my dish to send the dish home with me. Lol I've never had any one wash my dishes! Lol haha But, they all went on and on about how great it was. And they wanted the recipe! Little did they know it was HEALTHY! Lol haha There was at least 20 people there and EVERY one went on and on about the dessert. In fact it was all eaten up, and the two store bought cakes and ice cream (some one else brought) barely touched!

I also hurried and whipped her up a flour sack towel as a gift, I usually like vintage patterns, but didn't have time for that. (only had about 2 hours) So I made her a monogrammed one and kept it simple. :)

Gordie Gave the Public Talk

Today is the day we go to the sister, we met on the line at convention, home for dinner. I can't even remember her name! EEK! I am hoping things go well. I was in such shock over being invited to her home, I forgot to get her a gift! UHG, now it's too late. I wish I could whip up a tee towel really fast, but I don't think I can be that fast!

Tomorrow Gorden, my father in law's brother is giving the public talk for our congregation. He's a Circuit Overseer, we're not in his circuit, but he's visiting tomorrow. My father in law has his first every public talk coming up. So we will be having lots of visitors for both talks. Lots of people will want to come see Gordon, and most the family was going to travel on over to see my father in law give his first public talk as well.

Embroidery

As I stated before I am embroidering away.

I have been cross stitching and doing embroidery since I was 10 years old. So many of my threads are 20 + years old. I have one JP Coats floss (thread) left, all the rest is either DMC or Sulky. Well, lo and behold that JP coats floss is faded at one end. Grrr. How did that happen? Hmmph!

Thankfully Vince, my husband, is willing to stop by AC Moore on the way home from work and grab me the color I need. :) I don't even think JP Coats makes floss any more. So it won't be another JP Coats, but it'll be DMC.

I am so just pining away for the time I can go to that cross stitch store I sighted!

We're Invited

Something kind of neat happened, at Convention while standing in line to go in, the sister behind me wanted my name and phone number. After she let me sit in her chair to hold Lela on the line.

I didn't figure I would really hear from her. She called, she wants us to come to dinner on Saturday! So today I'm trying to figure out a dessert to take.

I think it will be fun. She was really sweet. She lives in Brooklyn.

Swap

I didn't make it to the Needle craft store yesterday. Didn't have enough gas to go. :( Maybe next week.

Not much going on here today. I need to work on my pillowcase swap. So I'll be doing that. And watching the Olympics.

Trying Again

I'm going to try really really hard to make a new blog entry every day.

Last year, I embroidered several pillowcases as gifts. I thought I had photographed all of them, but come to find out, I only photographed three! Out of at least 10 that I made. :( Awe well.

Here's a slide show of the ones I did snap shots of, and some of the things I have done this year, only one pair of pillow cases, and 2 tea towels, I did one other tea towel but I gave it away, and also didn't photograph it. It was of a dutch girl holding a chocolate cake. YUMMY. I wish I would of gotten more shots. Cause some of them I really really loved.

Now, I'm in a embroidered pillowcase swap. Mine are going to the Netherlands, and I'm getting a pair from the Netherlands. I can't wait!

I'm Back

I haven't posted in YEARS literally here. I wonder if any one is still out there.

I've been busy with our daughter, that I see I haven't really even blogged about here. :( She's growing up soooooo fast. Almost 2 years old now!

I have had to pump her breast milk the whole time. And I'm working on weaning from the pump. It's a happy and sad process. Happy that I won't have to constantly take the pump with me every where I go, and always looking at the clock to see if it's time to pump once again. But, sad, that she will no longer be getting mommy milk. I just wish we could of gotten her to latch. Oh well....life goes on! And it is!

I've been having a great time embroidering! I even recently found a cross stitch and needle arts store in Long Island. I'll be going there tomorrow. I can't wait! I found it when I was looking for my new favorite fast food place-Panera Bread. YUMMY! I remember eating there way back when I was a kid and it was called the St. Louis Bread Company, then I didn't see it in forever, and now it's Panera Bread. It's very healthy and yummy both! And it's a place that Vince and Lela loves to eat at too. All three of us are real soup and salad eaters. And Lela and I love apples. So it really fits the bill for us.

I know I'm going to have to fix up the place, as it's pretty dated. Look forward to new graphics soon.

Rash

Yesterday I had to go to Urgent Care. I had a rash. Grrr. I hate them. We were there for 2 hours. But, hey at least I got all my magazines read while I was there and left about 8. 8 less to have around this house! lol So today I have to refill my canvas bag.

Martha!

I received a phone call last night, that they were looking for NYC people who have lost weight using Richard Simmons method, for Martha Stewart. So I may be one of his success stories on Tuesday on the Martha Stewart show. It sounds like fun! Thankfully cause of flylady I have clean clothes to wear! lol I can't wait. Any way, if I get to go, I will be on the front row and they will use me as one of Richard's success stories. I also got a application in the mail to be on his next infomercial. I think it would be really neat if they pick me.

Flylady

Man again not posting in forever.

I have been staying on the Fly Lady band wagon, thank goodness! I was a little stale about doing things for about a week. But, still have been making progress. So I am happy about that. I can open the front door and not be embarrassed! I'm thinking about starting a TOPS group, and wow I think I could actually have meetings here now! We have gotten rid of so much junk! I am just very happy. It seemed impossible and I thought it would be next year before we got to the point we are now. But, it actually is working faster then I thought. I am just amazed I have been able to stay on top of it this long. I think I really am giving up some of my control issues, finally!

Divabetics

Divabetics have so much coming up. Saturday I will be going to some classes they are offering. It sounds like it will be a lot of fun. If any of you who read my blog are diabetic and in NY, Saturday is going to be a free open house for diabetic courses. Here's the info.

Diabetic Life

Last month we went to more Dlife tv tapings. It was a lot of fun again! I finally got the pics on the pc from it.

I also was made co-chair of Divabetics support groups in NYC. I think that's going to be really fun.

Next week we are going to my first diabetic walk. I think it will be fun too.
